He pioneered the kneel-and reel technique for large bass fishing and also set the weight record in a five-bass-limit tournament at the 1982 Bassmaster Classic. Elias is also the Elite Series' heavyweight champion over the past few years.

Seth Feider

Seth Feider hails from Minnesota and qualified for the Bassmaster Classic by finishing strongly in the Elite Series points competition. He was among the top 25, and weighed 5 lb 15oz Hartwell, on Sunday. He's been consistent and should be able compete for Angler of Year titles in the future.

Ashley Hackney

Tomorrow marks the beginning of the MLF title tournament on Lake Nacogdoches. It is a 2,212 acre lake in East Texas. Hackney believes it's possible to catch smaller, trophy-sized fish in these waters. As evidence, a piece of tackle left on Hackney's front porch was missing during the competition. Here's why.

How To

How to Fish in Freshwater

Freshwater fishing involves the capture of fish from freshwater sources like lakes, rivers, streams and ponds. Common fish species include bass, catfish and crappie as well as trout, trout, sunfish and walleye. These species can be caught in a variety different ways. Trolling, trolling, trolling, spinnerbaits and flyfishing are all popular methods.

Finding a good spot to catch fish is the first step in any fishing endeavor. This means that you should choose a location near the water source. Next, you need to decide on the type of equipment that you want.

For live bait to work, choose something that looks familiar and appealing to the fish. You can use live bait such as worms and minnows, insects, grasshoppers, bloodworms and leeches.

Artificial lures can be used. These baits are made of plastic, wood feathers rubber metal foam and other materials. Artificial lures come a variety of sizes. They mimic natural prey like minnows, crawfish and shiners as well as grubs and other aquatic animals. Lures are popular because they require little skill to throw them in the water. Lures are easy to set up and easy to retrieve once they hit their target.

Casting is a great way to learn if you don't want to use live bait, or just want to experiment with new techniques. Casting is one of most effective ways to catch fish. It takes very little effort and requires no special skill.

You only need a rod. A reel. Line, sinkers, weights, hooks. A simple pole can be used to cast. To cast the rod, hold it vertically above water's surface. Next, lower the rod tip so that it touches the water. As soon as it does this the line starts to unwind from the reel. Once the line has reached its maximum length, release the rod and let the lure drop back into the water.

Another method of catching fish is trolling. Trolling is the use of a boat to transport a lure across the water.

Fishing is fun and rewarding. There are many types of fishing, each with its own benefits and drawbacks. Some techniques are easier than others. However, they require patience and practice.
